Banana Fosters My Way Sauce Recipe -Gluten-Free and Allergy Friendly

Updated: Nov 24, 2020

My favorite fruit is banana, and I pretty much love all things banana. If you are not able to eat banana’s you can omit the banana or replace it with another fruit. You will have a really good sauce to use with ice cream, over waffles, or pancakes. The options probably do not end there, but those are my favorite options! Keep reading below to get the full recipe or hop on over to my Allergy Dragon YouTube Channel for a step-by-step how-to video.

My Banana Fosters Sauce on a Waffle...Yummy!

You will need

3 Bananas, I slice mine short, but you can slice them long as a traditional Fosters Sauce would be.

¼ cup butter ( can sub spectrum shorting, coconut oil, vegan margarine)

2/3 cup brown sugar packed( Can sub brown rice syrup or Coconut Sugar)

2tsp. Vanilla Extract

1 tsp Rum flavor (this is what I use) with 3 tablespoons of water

If you can have rum go for it! 3 tablespoons of Rum you will need.

½ teaspoon cinnamon if you can have it. If you are like us and can’t then use ¼ teaspoon clove and ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Let's Get Started!

In a skillet or saucepan over medium heat melt, butter and then add the brown sugar mix slightly. Allow coming to a light boil that looks like it is trying to separate. Then add the bananas allow to cook about 1 minute then flip/stir the bananas to allow to cook an additional 30 seconds. Next, you add the vanilla and stir then add the rum flavoring, water and nutmeg and clove allow to cook until sugar has dissolved around 2 more minutes. Be careful not over to cook the bananas.

*If you are using Rum, you will add the vanilla, stir, add spices then add the rum you can then light the Alcohol on fire and when the flame goes out, it is done. Be careful as this is what we call Flambe. Side note if you are using cinnamon and Flambe, you can add the cinnamon as it is burning to add a little spark to the dish. This is rather cool if you want to impress people with some skills. Just remember safety first and be aware of your surroundings when handling any fire. *

As the sauce comes to completion, you have a fantastic breakfast, dessert, or whenever you want to eat it a delicious dish. Top with Whip cream to make it that even more delectable. However, and whenever you eat it, I hope this recipe helps you tame your Allergy Dragon. Feel free to like, share this recipe, and let us know what you think!
