Bones & Stones No-Cook Gluten-Free Allergy-Friendly Halloween Treats!

Updated: Oct 24, 2021

I had a great class the other day where I made a Halloween entree, and I had to make dessert! Bones & Stones is a great quick and make-ahead dessert or makes it with the kids while cooking. I remember . My Aunt Ramona would always make this and make it different each time. The name was always the same, but what was in it was half of the treat, or maybe the trick? Keep reading for the full recipe.

Bones & Stones Gluten-Free Allergy-Friendly Halloween Dessert!

Ingredients!

1- 8 oz bag of allergy-friendly chocolate

1 teaspoon of shortening

Gluten-free allergy-friendly pretzel sticks or twists 1

Vegan allergy-friendly marshmallows 1 cup

Pumpkin Seeds and or sunflower seeds 1 cup

Pop Corn or Dry Cereal 1 cup

Dried fruit such as raisins if you would like 1 cup

The best part about this recipe is it is entirely customizable for what you can have. Can’t have corn, then sub more of one of the other ingredients you can have!

*I used 1 1/2 cups of Pretzels twist, 1 cup of cereal, ½ cup of hemp seeds, and 1 cup of Marshmallows.

Getting ready to start my Halloween Feast Class!

Let’s Get Started!

Make a bain-marie (using a pot with water and a bowl) or use a double boiler to make sure they are hot and water almost boiling. Add in the shorting and once it is melted add in the chocolate chips and meltdown until smooth using a heat resistant spatula. Be careful full , and remove from heat.

I prefer to add all my dry ingredients to a separate bowl and then add my chocolate over that so the chocolate can start to cool as you are stirring and make sure the bones and stones are fully covered in chocolate.

After the mixture is fully covered pour out the mixture flat, on a parchment-lined pan, and pat down with a spatula till evenly spread out.

*Can add fun Halloween sprinkles that are safe for you.

*One trick I use is I use a sheet pan pre-frozen in the freezer for ten minutes lined with parchment paper. Then I pop it back in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes if needed to harden the chocolate quickly.

Let me know what would be your perfect Bones and Stones recipe? I hope everyone has a very Happy and safe Halloween. Make sure to subscribe to my website for more great recipes. I hope this recipe helps to tame your Allergy Dragon.
